Artek Pop-up Cafe and PLYground present 15 meters of Alvar Aalto

To mark the 80th birthday of the iconic ”Stool 60”, designed by the famous Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), Finnish furniture company Artek and showroom for vintage and industrial design PLY, present a pop-up café at PLYground, Hamburg to celebrate this classic beauty.

For the next two weeks, a daily lunch from Klippkroog will be served and an afternoon coffee and cake supplied by Herr Max. Berlin based book store ´do you read me?!' will also get in on the action, presenting a fine selection of books to read and buy. All of this will be served at an impressive 15 meter long table, built from Aalto Originals from the last 60 years.

Two themed evenings will also take place on the 10th and 17th of October exploring the work of Egon Eiermann and Alvar Aalto. To participate in the events, registration is required. More info can be found here.

The Artek pop-up cafe is open from 12 till 6pm and runs until the 19th of October, from Monday to Friday, at Plyground, Hohenesch 68 in Hamburg.
