Still House is an art collective based in New York, founded in 2007 by photographer and filmmaker Isaac Brest and Alex Perweiler, a Parsons grad working primarily in photography. The initial purpose of the collective was to form an online viewing platform to exhibit their work. Their collaborative approach is pertinent to the group’s growth, helping one another in making, promoting, and exhibiting their own work as an entity. Currently, Still House is made up of Zachary Susskind, Louis Eisner, Brendan Lynch, Dylan Lynch, Lucien Smith, Grear Patterson, Nick Darmstaedter, Jack Greer, Mike Gigliotti and Jane Mosely.
After a nomadic period following their eight month stay at an abandoned Department of Transportation office in TriBeCa, The Still House Group has now landed in a new space in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The space consists of a gallery in the front with studios in the back, for the artists to both create and display their art. The gallery will be introducing a monthly series, with an inaugural show on September 17 by Peter Sutherland, the first participant in the residency program, which fosters artists in the studio for three months at a time.
