TateShots: Maurice Sendak

“Maurice Sendak, the creative genius behind books such as ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ and ‘In the Night Kitchen’, is an illustrator whose work has been seen by millions of people all over the world. TateShots traveled to the forest in upstate New York where Sendak is now based to look back over his literary career, discuss his love for William Blake and hear why he thinks that as an artist, ‘you just have to take the dive’.”

Austria Solar Annual Report, powered by the sun

“Solar energy is the main business of our client Austria Solar. That´s why we thought about how we could put this energy to paper. The result: the first annual report powered by the sun. Its content remains invisible until sunlight falls on its pages. “The Solar Annual Report 2011 – powered by the sun”

FvF Interview - Meet Martin Carvajal the most relaxed professional for men’s fashion in New York
“ I remember living with two of my best friends in an apartment and I thought we were really lucky with our set up. But now if I look back, it was kind of a shit hole. I remember the times where the option of calling a cab didn’t exist. It could be 4 a.m. in Manhattan, exhausted after partying, half drunk and I would not even think of jumping in a cab, because of my tight budget. Good times.”
It got even better: In 2011 Martin founded his own clothing brand FairEnds with longtime friend Ben Ferencz. You can check out their collection here.

“Une fille comme les autres” by Matthew Frost

Yes- we are a bit late with this one, but we just call it a classic and share it anyways. Director Matthew Frost shot this nice video for French fashion magazine Jalouse, featuring one of the sexiest tooth-gaps there are at the moment: Ashley Smith. Watching it makes us want to throw away our winterboots and have a glass of crémant at a Parisian Bar tout de suite!

The Yellow River Surging Northward Rumblingly - Zhang Kechun
The yellow river is the latest work of Chinese artist and photographer Zhang Kechun. In a series of twentyseven pictures Kechun documents the in-between landscape of today’s China. Heading towards the future and abandoning the past, losing the strong bond to nature that has been so long in the core of Chinese culture, Kechuns pictures seem to question all of these. They are longing for identity in a space where nothing is constituted, yet.

FvF Mixtape #17 by Discodromo

Discodromo are Giacomo Garavelloni and Giovanni Turco, an DJ duo based in Berlin and staple of the local nightlife for some time now. Their name pays reference to their youth in Italy: Discodromo is the italian expression for the runway of UFOs, commonly used in Italian Sci-Fi movies of the 70s. From their pop and disco oriented youth, the duo gained a deep understanding of house and techno while clubbing during the 90s and selected a tasteful mix for this weeks episode!
