100,000 LED lights float down the Sumida River
The inaugural Tokyo Hotaru festival was held last weekend. And kicking off the festivities were an impressive display of 100,000 LED lights – made to resemble hotaru (fireflies) – that floated down the Sumida River through central Tokyo. FvF Interview from Berlin-Kreuzberg: Vivien Weyrauch and Fabian Röttger
“Every day we are bombarded with these seemingly ordinary but surreal moments…The other day I observed a young child who refused to get up from the pavement. Snow still existed and other kids, passing by, covered the stubborn child with a blanket. As well, an invalid man in his wheelchair stopped and tried to convince the child to get up again. It created an obscure ambiance, yet nothing severe occurred.“
The creative couple A Nice Idea Every Day rediscovers the beauty in the simplistic, every-day life through their obscure, almost fantastical-seeming videos.

Peter Lindbergh - The Naked Truth
Es geht eben darum, die Hüllen fallen zu lassen und das wahre Gesicht zu zeigen und nicht zu posen. Peter ist meines Erachtens der beste Fotograf für das Thema The Naked Truth, ich kenne ihn schon seit meinem 18. Lebensjahr.
Er schafft nonverbal und mit ganz wenigen Gesten eine wunderbare Atmosphäre, in der man sich freiwillig und sehr gern öffnet. Mini-Studios in Mexico City
“FRENTEarquitectura has completed ‘mini-studio’, an art workshop located in colonia del vale, mexico city, mexico. using trapezoidal shapes and by controlling the perspective, vanishing points are emphasized achieving a dynamic and fluid space that awakens imagination while stimulating creativity. This area is limited to only 27 square meters and is nested in a small gap that was originally occupied by a storage room in the backyard of a residence.”
Skate Sculpture meets Club Culture
This Art Project, a “skateable” sculpture, set up in the backyard of popular Berlin Club Prince Charles, was realized in March 2012 by the Skateboarding Fraternity Ambivalent in collaboration with sculpture artist Roberto Cuellar.

Monica Bonvicini Knows Best
In 2002, Italian Artist Monica Bonvicini exhibited the installation Stonewall 3, a cell-like corridor of glass sheets and steel bars with the sentence “Architecture is the ultimate erotic act, carry it to excess” sprayed behind it, like graffiti on the wall.
